BLS Provider Course Description
This Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course is designed for healthcare professionals and trained first responders who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.
Course Overview: Students will learn evidence-based BLS skills including high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants; use of a bag-mask device; relief of choking; and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). The course emphasizes team-based scenarios and real-world application of skills.
Course Materials: Each student receives the BLS Provider Manual, which serves as both a learning tool during the course and an ongoing reference resource. The manual incorporates the latest science from the 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and includes the BLS Reference Card for quick skill reminders.

Prerequisites: None
Certification: Upon successful completion, students receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider course completion card, valid for two years.
